Mirror Lake 2010

Every summer we try to go to Mirror Lake, so since Charles' parents were here yesterday we decided to make the trip. When we got there it was raining a little bit, but it eventually cleared up. We started off by fishing a little. Jacob is getting pretty good at casting, but I wouldn't suggest putting a hook on his line if you are planning on fishing anywhere near him.

Here is Brielle with her new pink pole grandpa gave her for her birthday. She caught one fish with it but it got away before I got a picture of it. Charles caught 3 fish with her pole, so she counts those as hers too.
Caleb had a great time running around, and throwing rocks in the water
I asked Jacob to smile for this picture and he said, "No, I can't, I have to get a new thing on my fishing pole." He was all business.
Grandma and Caleb fishing away
After fishing for awhile we had a BBQ

Then we were off for a hike around the lake. Thanks grandpa for hauling Caleb for us!

We stopped here and there along the way for Charles to fish (we only brought one pole). This was the very smallest fish of the day.
This fish was hooked on a bubble and dragging it around the lake. Chuck had a great time trying to hook the bubble with his pole so he could unhook the fish from it. Plus, he got a cool new bubble out of the deal.
On our way down we stopped at the Provo River Falls to hike around a little.
Awesome family picture, huh? It's hard to get six people focused at the same time.

Swimming Lessons!

My 3 older kids are taking swimming lessons in Orem this week and next week, and they are loving it. So much nicer than our awesome pool here in Heber!! And it's outside! Thanks for the suggestion Sarah! We are carpooling with our friends Zoe, Ella, and Caroline. Jacob is loving that he is friends with 2 of the 4 people in his class. His teacher is also named Jake, which is so cool. This is a picture of Jacob, Caroline and Zoe about to jump off the edge.

And here they are after they jumped...
And that's all I got before I was reprimanded for being to close to the water. You have to stay on the colored concrete. Oooops. I just wanted some pictures!

Brooke and Brielle were too far away during their lesson so here they are after...
Brooke wasn't too smiley, she was kind of mad at me for making her get dressed. She wanted to wait til the family dressing room was open.
We are having a great time. And Sarah...Jacob doesn't want you to drive next time it's your turn. He wants "Ella's dad to drive because he drives CRAZY!!"

Boys And Their Blankies

I have never had a kid that was attached to a blanket. Until now. This kid LOVES his blanket. I take it away during the day, but he sure wishes I didn't. And not only does he snuggle with it, he sucks on it.

So you can imagine my relief when I realized that they all have one too!!
Caleb had his friends over on Monday and all 4 of them LOVE their blankets. They were adorable. Camille told me to hide her boys from them...and I did...after I took pictures. Caleb's blanket actually came from Camille. She gave it to Jacob when he was born. So I blame her.

So dang cute, huh??

24th Update

Proof that we did nothing over the 24th...

And LOVED it!

Hey! At least we wore patriotic shirts!!

We ended up in Provo all day on Saturday doing some shopping. When we got home we took naps, played in the yard, and then it was another Redbox. We had a very relaxing weekend.

Sad, lonely pool...

We were supposed to be here this weekend...

Doesn't that pool look sad without us?!
And what a poor, deflated slide!

We had planned to go to St. George for the 24th, but to be totally honest, I'm pooped! We have been running all summer! I don't remember the last weekend we had at home. It was going to be a fast trip anyway, so we decided to save the vacation day, and stay home this weekend. We wandered around the Farmer's Market last night, then ate snow cones and did a little yard work. And for tonight...wait for it...we rented a movie from Redbox! Can't wait! Lucky for me, I might even get a date this weekend!

Cabin-Work Day 6

Well, six for us at least. Last Saturday we spent the day at the cabin again working. We were supposed to go up Friday night but after camp, I really wanted to sleep in my own bed. So we got up early and headed up there.
Brandon is my cousin, he is in the orange, anyone wondering where his legs are?
Tell me Chuck isn't half hanging over the edge here. You should have seen him sway out when that lift bounced. Made my heart sink. And what the heck is he holding on to? Nothing?

Brookie
Audrianna (I have no idea how to spell that ;/ sorry!), Allee, Anne, and her little Mr. He needs a name by the way...suggestions?
Charlie...in the clouds
Allee and Caleb in the wildflowers. She is 3 months older than him.
Just a swingin' How does your Gatorade taste in a sippy cup Anne?
This is Brooke begging Grandpa to give her a job. She loves helping the boys.
Here is Brok. He was up top for a little bit. After him and Brandon about followed Chuck off the side of the lift he decided he'd fair better driving it instead of riding it.
"Here you go, boys"
Yes, that is Charles hanging off the edge hammering away.

This is where Allee had her afternoon nap. Hot, but cozy!
Sprawled out
He faceplanted it in the dirt.
Sprawled out, and hanging over the edge. Good thing he has life insurance cuz I really don't want to have to get a job.
Check out that pose. I let my girls each take 5 pictures. They had fun with it!
We have had a good time up at the cabin this summer. And luckily the only mishap this week was Chuck tearing his contact. He spent half the day winking. But no one fell off the roof! Rich has given us a weekend off, then it's back to work! It's been fun to hang out with the family, making memories!

Girls Camp

So last week, on Wednesday, I ventured up to Girls Camp. I have no good pictures, they all turned out blurry, but I had to put up some proof that I actually went, so here you go! Hanging out in the cabin.

We had a great time, despite the camp leader blowing her knee out on Tuesday. We were sad to not have her there, but we survived! I was up there for skits on Wednesday night, and the hike, crafts, and speaker on Thursday. Then of course, testimony meeting, spiritual as always. And Friday morning we just packed up and headed for home. Two nights up there, I don't know how people stay up there Monday through Friday. Those beds are HARD! Kuddos Becky! It was fun to get to know the girls better since I'm still fairly new in the Y.W. Can't wait til next year!
When I got home my kids were wired. They had been completely spoiled while I was gone. Charles took time off of work to stay with them. They ran through sprinklers, had pizza for dinner the first night, Arby's for lunch the next day, and "chips, popsicles, and root beer floats" for dinner the second night. Brielle said he did make them eat a hot dog though. :) They didn't want me to come home. I wouldn't have either! As Charles was walking out the door to go to work he handed me a 20 and told me they had run out of time to go get a snow cone, so I needed to go get them one. So I did.

My Girlies

My girls have been loving stuffed animals lately. And they LOVE taking pictures of them. Here are a few...

Cute eh?

Cascade Springs 2010

Every year we try to get up to Cascade Springs at least once. We took a drive up there on the 11th. It was pretty crowded but my kids still had fun wandering around. We went home through Sundance. It was a nice little Sunday drive. And don't I have cute kids?
