September Sports

September was full of soccer, flag football, and a little basketball. These first pictures are from Jacob's soccer game on September 7th. This one was taken right after he took a ball to the gut.

Between the 2 boys we had 3 games that day so everyone was pretty hungry. We stopped at Chili's on our way home.

Caleb begged to play flag football through the rec center. It was a little bit of a struggle because soccer season was in full swing and he was playing for a few teams so he didn't make it to very many football games, but I will tell you, the games he made it to, he gave it his all. He killed it. And he had a blast! He's wearing a black soccer shirt in all these pictures, most of them are from his game on September 24th. He loves those red football gloves.

Jacob had the opportunity to play in a basketball tournament the last weekend of September. He jumped all over it. That's definitely his sport right now.

We played a little soccer that weekend too. These are from one of Caleb's games.

These kids keep us busy but we love watching them play.

Homecoming 2019

Brielle was asked to Homecoming by Sam Tomco and she was so excited!

I somehow missed getting a picture of her response.

We went shopping and she found her dress at Mikarose.
The dance was on September 28th. For their day date they went to Provo and went to Color Me Mine. She came home to get ready and was so excited to have her hair straightened. Until right when they were supposed to leave to go take pictures and it was a downpour outside.

The rain cleared up and they were able to get some great shots. They went to dinner at The Corner and then to the dance.
She had a ton of fun. She is really loving this time of her life.

Hunting and Some Work at the Cabin

On September 26 we let the boys skip school and we got up early and took them hunting. Jacob spotted a deer that he really wanted to shoot but his muzzleloader malfunctioned. They tried to get it working, but in the mean time they lost the deer. He wasn't very happy about it.

We cut the morning short because we needed to go home and fix the gun, but on the way out we saw a moose!

We got home, got it fixed, loaded up the 4-wheelers, picked up lunch and headed to the cabin with both trucks. We had work to do.We had snowmobiles, boats, RV's and trailers to move around. It took 3 trucks but we did it.

And everything fit!
It was tiring work, but we weren't done.
We left the cabin and headed toward Currant Creek. We spent the afternoon and evening hunting both from the 4 wheelers and hiking. It was such a beautiful day and fun to spend it with my boys.

Some Random September Pictures

We had left our camp trailer up in the mountains for a few weeks so we could go up and spend some time there. One evening (September 15th) we drove up to check on it and Caleb decided to come with us. We did some shooting while we were there.

Getting the boat ready for winter.

On the 18th Brooke was inducted into the National Honors Society. We are so proud of that girl!!

Brielle was also invited to join, but decided against it.

I love it when I see all these bikes at my house. Jacob has a great group of friends.

Charles let Jacob drive the truck. Not sure what he was thinking.

A Trip to Richfield

We decided to go to Richfield to surprise Grandpa Balch for his birthday. We arranged to meet Sarah's family and Doug and Wyona at South China for dinner. He seemed excited that we were there. We had a nice dinner then went back to their house for presents and cake.

We stayed the night and spent the next day on the west mountain just west of Joseph. We stopped in Elsinore on the way to pick up some chicken and then we parked the truck in Joseph.
We unloaded the 4 wheelers and started up the road. This kid lucked out and was in the Teryx with me and Grandma and Grandpa.

Our first item of business was to look for the tree Charles and I carved our initials in right after we were married. When we stopped there and got off the machines everyone who was on the 4 wheelers was filthy.

We found it! We spent so much time early in our marriage up on the west mountain. We drove those roads over and over again, we camped there every year, sometimes for 10 days straight for the bow hunt. We have so many good memories up there. We even went to see a few of our old campsites while we were there.
We drove around for awhile and then stopped for lunch. Chicken from Carl's Jr. and chips.

Haha!
We did some shooting.

Relaxed for awhile.

And then continued on with our ride. Jacob took a turn in the Teryx and passed out.

Then it was Brielle's turn.
We ended up going up Peavine, which I can remember being scary from years ago. We had to do a little switching around.

Grandpa went back to make sure Jacob made it up with his 4-wheeler ok.

It was a little hairy for my little inexperienced drivers, but everyone did awesome and made it up fine.

Caleb got to take Grandpa's spot for a bit.

He headed back to Richfield late in the afternoon. We had burgers, watched some football, and Brooke did a painting for her room with Grandma. It turned out pretty cool.
We went home to Heber late that night. It was a fun day, and so nice to get away for a little while.
