On Tuesday we went to the Wisp to get a snow cone, and guess what?! Free bouncy slide!

On our way home.
Sunday morning we headed for home. We stopped for a few pictures of the Grand Tetons.
And we pulled off to check out String Lake. It was beautiful. We will have to find a way to spend some time there.
We had lunch in Jackson and then it was home sweet home.
We sure are lucky to have Yellowstone so close. It has a special place in my heart.

Crazy Day!
We spent all of Saturday morning hiking around in the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone, visiting hot pots, and taking a ton of pictures. We started at Dragon's Cauldron and then went to the mud volcanos.
Then we did the waterfall hikes in Canyons.
It must have been bright.
Living on the edge.
The kids love standing on these grates because warm steam comes up through them. Sometimes it stinks though.
Once we had finished our morning waterfall tour and photo session we set out to find a rest area. We pulled over at Firehole Falls picnic area and everyone really had to go! There was only one restroom so Charles threw the car into park and he and the boys jumped out of the car in a full on sprint toward the bathroom. Haha! Well somewhere along the way Caleb and Charles got tangled up and Caleb went down hard. He let out the loudest screaming wail and both Charles and I knew it wasn't good. We got him calmed down and sat him down to look at him. We could tell right away that his collar bone was broken, which of course caused Charles to get woozy. He doesn't handle the sight, or even thought of injury, blood or pain well. We loaded everyone back up in the car and drove down to Old Faithful and went to the clinic. I took Caleb in and we sat there for a good long while. They took some xrays, and sure enough we were right. Broken collar bone.
They put him in a sling, we paid and we were on our way.
While we were waiting in the clinic Charles and the other kids went to the gift store and bought Caleb a pocketknife and a buffalo. They bought him ice cream too but it was long melted by the time we were done.
Caleb is a pretty tough guy and was actually pretty excited about his war wound, so we continued on with our trip. We stopped for lunch, drove out to Lamar, then set up in Hayden to watch for wolves.
No wolves but we saw some eagles and a grizzly.
Oh, and a swimming buffalo.
It was a little bit of a stressful afternoon but we still made the most of our day in the park.
