Friday morning we got up early, had a quick breakfast and were one of the first off the ship in Castaway Cay. We had plans for a full day of sun, sand, snorkeling and beach time. It really was our only beach day this trip and we were all looking forward to it. We noticed the crazy wind the minute we stepped off the ship. Hoping it would die down we walked over by the water slide and found some chairs and umbrellas and set up camp.
The kids jumped right in the water. I don't know why this picture is like this, but at the very tip top you can see Brielle, Brooke and Jacob swimming.
The swimming didn't last long, and due to the wind they weren't letting anyone snorkel.
We sat on the beach for awhile.
And everyone went down the slide a few times.
We even watched a little wedding next to us on the beach. Around lunchtime Grandpa and Suzanne decided they wanted crab for lunch on the ship so they headed back. We went to lunch on the island and while we were eating the rain moved in. It was a downpour!
The boys escaped the rain by playing some ping pong,
and then we hit up the gift shops. In the craziness of the rain and finding the right size of shirt for Brooke I forgot to get my Castaway Cay mug. I'm gonna have to go back!
The weather didn't seem to be letting up, so we headed back to the ship. We stopped along the way to take some pictures. The professional ones we had taken never came through so this is the best we've got.
It really is such a pretty island.
Pretty much as soon as we were back to our room the sun came out. We enjoyed it from our balcony. Every day on Castaway can't be perfect I guess, but we still love it.
We were on the opposite side of the ship this time so we could see all the operations on the dock. It was pretty cool. We missed all of that on the last trip, but if I had too choose I'd probably choose the island side next time.
We took a little extra time that afternoon to shower and get ready for dinner. We all wore our Disney shirts for the last night and met up early for some Mickey shirt pictures.
Grandkids
Dinner was at the Royal Court and it was lobster night!
After dinner we went to the room to start packing and then we went to the show. It was incredible. Once our suitcases were ready and in the hall I went to the gift shop with Brielle and then we played shuffle board for the last time, and I got a great video of Mickey and Goofy giving the boys a high five.
We walked around the deck, and fell asleep watching a movie in our room.
Our last towel animal.
