The Big 4-0

Wednesday, the 29th, I turned 40. Which seems pretty crazy. My family made it an awesome day. The girls were up bright and early and brought me balloons, a treat and a Quench It.

Someone from Charles' work made me these amazing cookies.

And after a morning of packing it was time for presents! Caleb got me the new ladle I wanted.

Jacob gave me a pizza stone.

New Nikes from Brooke.

And a patio heater from Brielle!

Then Brooke gave me a bonus present...a pineapple slicer. She's really been wanting me to have one of those.

Charles had this bed swing made for me. I'm so excited to get it hung up!

I was definitely spoiled. We had lunch and then we were on our way to St. George for some sunshine and heat! We checked into our condo and picked up Wendy's for dinner. We were staying at the Estancia Resort. It didn't take the kids long to make their way to the pickleball courts.

They played some games with grandpa and we relaxed and visited the rest of the evening.

It was a great way to ring in my forties. 

Getting Creative (or Just Bored)

We are still pretty much stuck at home and to say we are getting a little bored would be an understatement. Charles has decided he now has extra time to get back into golf so we took the boys to the school to work on their swing.

He's also got the kids doing ladders in the backyard everyday.

We decided to put in a little firepit area on Saturday and we had to try it out. It's still covered in sand so you can't see all our hard work, but it's going to make the firepit a lot more useable. We tested it out Saturday evening.

On Sunday we took a nice walk down below the dam along the Provo River.

And then spent  a little more time working on our golf swing.

Today was haircut day for us girls. We all got our hair cut and the girls were super excited because the hairdresser straightened Brielle's hair and curled Brooke's. Best day ever! You always want what you don't have.

While we were getting our hair done, Jacob dragged Charles to Home Depot and talked him into buying a fancy sander so that he could do some woodworking.

They are working on knife handles.

We are staying busy with school work, trying to stay sort of physically active, and trying not to get on each other's nerves. No school for 5 months straight may be more of a challenge than we signed up for. I'm scheduled to go back to work on May 5th so hopefully the kids survive each other here at home.

Stewart Falls

This morning we took a drive up to Sundance to see if we could circle around to Cascade Springs. The gate was still closed so we decided to see what the walk to Stewart Falls would be like. It was snowy. And muddy. But also very peaceful and enjoyable. The day was gorgeous and it wasn't too cold.

There was an avalanche that had covered the trail that we had to climb over.

But we made it!

There isn't much water flowing yet, so we may have to go back in the summer to see it in it's full glory.

I sure love my little family.
