St. George~Finally!!

The girls didn't have school last Friday, so Thursday night we headed to St. George. We hadn't been down since before Christmas and we were all dying for some fun in the sun. Charles worked all day Friday while his mom and I took the kids to the park and to feed the ducks. Jacob got to go golfing with Chuck and his dad in the afternoon and had a  blast. That night we got a babysitter and had dinner at the country club. So yummy!
I love, love his face in this picture

That's my kind of golfing

Apparently he was the designated golf cart driver

That kid sure had a fun afternoon with his dad and grandpa. We LOVE St. George!!

Caleb had a blast playing Rock em Sock em with Grandma. I've never heard that kid laugh so hard.

Saturday we went back  to feed the ducks because Jacob was feeling bad he missed it, and then we spent the afternoon in the pool. Another fun weekend! We love St. George!

Dorito fingers!

And this is what we came home to, a blizzard and a huge windstorm.

Garbage and Parks

The other day I had asked the boys to pick up their rooms. And they weren't. Nothing new, but I had had it, so I got a trash bag and I threw everything that was on the floor in it. And believe me, there was a lot of stuff. Jacob was upset, even Brooke was upset (not sure why since it wasn't her stuff,  but she was), Caleb was completely hysterical. I've never seen the kid so mad, and I have to say, I kind of enjoyed it! Finally something had gotten to him, nothing phases him! Anyway, I was never intending on throwing them away for good, but I sure let them think I was. A little while later I found the stool from the bathroom outside by the garbage can. Caleb had tried to get his toys out of it. I had to laugh.

In other news, we had our first trip to the park last week, well, for this year anyway. We went with a couple of neighbor kids, and the boys had a blast. We need to get out more!

St. Patrick's Day-2012

St. Patrick's Day was on a Saturday this year, so we got to spend the day with dad. When the kids woke up they found gold coins everywhere from some crazy leprechaun. We had a green breakfast and the kids spent a good part of the day making an awesome leprechaun house (because I threw last years away, they are still mad at me). For dinner we bagged the idea of corned beef and cabbage and instead ordered pizza and ate green jello. Much better.

We love holidays!

Little Waspettes

When I was a little girl my mom signed me up for "Little Waspettes". It's a fund raiser for the WHS Waspettes, and it was a disaster. I can remember  the night like it was yesterday. We were performing in front of a whole crowd of people and we were supposed to be in a certain order, in a line, holding hands. Everyone was in line holding hands but me, I was running up and down the line trying to find my spot, and I was mortified! I even remember my pale yellow Waspettes shirt. That was the one and only experience with dance I had as a kid. So when McKell came by, what did I do?! Signed my girls up, of course! And they loved it. Every second of it. They practiced 2 hours a day for 3 days, and then performed at the Waspette Spectacular.

Brielle practicing with McKell (sorry about the blurry pictures, I was taking them with my phone and I was pretty far away).

They were so excited to put their hair up and put makeup on.

Caleb was dying to have his picture taken too.

Cutest kid ever, right?!

I told them to look at each other so I could get a picture of their hair, they thought that was a little ridiculous.

My Girls
Brielle went first, and did a great job.

Brooke didn't perform until the end of the program, and Chuck had had it by then. The was a whole lot of dancing to watch, but my girls were in heaven. I have to admit, I enjoyed it too. Charles was outside by the time Brooke had her shoes back on.

Good job girls! Until next year!

Monday, March 12, 2012

Things picked up a little for us at the end of the month. The last Saturday of the February we got up and asked the kids what they wanted to do. They said bowling, so we went bowling. They had a great time, and best of all, I won. And I'm a pretty bad bowler! I did not get one single picture that wasn't blurry. Sorry! I was using my phone, and nobody would stand still!

The girls had to dress up as their favorite book character for spirit day one Friday, and they both dressed up as Hermione. Caleb wanted to dress up too, as Harry. And he stuck his wand in his "pocket". Nice.

I've spent the last week or so repainting my stairway, hall, and entry. While I was totally distracted by my painting Caleb found an entire pack of gum and decided to chew it all. That kid...

March 2nd Charles and I went to the Jazz/Heat game in Salt Lake. We had such a fun night out. And it was a good game too. Very intense at the end. I love date night.

On Saturday, the 3rd, we headed to Joseph for Isabelle's baptism. It was so fun to hang out with Chuck's family. The baptism was great, and the food was yummy. And best of all my kids had a great time playing with their cousins.

The weather is warming up, and spring is on it's way. I'm so sad to have had such a lame winter, but maybe next year we'll get some snow! Now I just need to plan something to look forward to. Maybe a trip. Hmmm.
