Who ever said weekends were supposed to be for relaxing?! We have had another month full of crazy weekends. The Thursday after we got home from Yellowstone, I left Chuck with my 4 kids, and headed for sunny St. George with two of my friends. We were there until Sunday, and we had a great time...for the most part ;) I have no pictures of our girls trip, but we ate good food, shopped a lot, got pedicures, got in a fender bender, got massages, ate more food, did more shopping, went to Tuachan to see Crazy For You, and stayed up way too late talking and watching movies every night. I was a little out of it for a few days afterward, but it was a good time!! As for Chuck and my kids...they poured cement at the cabin, had some carpool/bike mishaps, went to soccer, watched movies, and played, played played!! It was fun to come home to 4 happy kids!
The following Wednesday Chuck and his friend headed to Beaver for the muzzleloader hunt. Another weekend apart. I think we are done with that for awhile. We missed eachother! The weekend after that we had a nice weekend at home. The girls went to pajama-rama, and on Saturday we washed, waxed and winterized grandpa's boat. Then lunch at Taco Time and to Provo to run some errands.
On to this weekend, we were back in St. George. It was Fall Break for the girls, so we left on Wednesday night. We spent all day on Thursday in Zion's National Park. We thought we had gone late enough in the year that we could drive in, but not quite. So after we drove through the tunnel and had lunch, we hopped on the shuttle, which my kids actually thought was kinda cool!
We rode the shuttle to the end of the route and then went on a hike. When we got to the end we decided to let the kids put their feet in the water. Caleb's shoes came off, and he ran full speed ahead, right into the Virgin River. He ran til he was about waist high, then lost his balance and fell in face first. He was dripping from head to toe.
We wrung his clothes out, let him play for a minute, and put them back on him for the hike back to the shuttle. I would've thought he would've been miserable, but he didn't act like it phased him.
Stopping for a rest
And a sword fight with sticks
And a family picture!
We only had time for one hike, and then we were back on the shuttle. Caleb slept the entire way down. That night I went shopping...Krumpets...Witches Night Out...with grandma, and got some great stuff for cheap. Then to Texas Roadhouse with Charles and Joe. It was a great day, and we were definately ready for bed!!
The next day the boys golfed and the rest of us sewed (pictures to come) and swam. Then we had pizza and watched baseball.
Caleb was a crazy man in the pool this trip. That kid has abolutely no fear of the water. The first time we went out I was blowing up floaties, the cover was still on the pool, and I heard one of my girls yell, "Caleb!!" Grandma and I looked up and, sure enough, there was Caleb, fully clothed, in the pool. Grandma is much faster than me, she yanked him out. The whole incident didn't even phase him. He spent the next two days jumping off the side of the pool. If you were there to catch him, he would jump to you. If you weren't, he would jump anyway. Freaks me right out...I love that he loves the water though!!
Saturday was more golfing, swimming, and sewing, and then we were on our way home. We had a great time! I have to say though, it is kind of nice knowing that I have absolutely nothing planned for the next 3 weekends!!! Yet...
