Region Champions!!

Today was Brielle's last high school swim meet as a Freshman. It was the region 8 championships and she was so nervous! Her first race was the 50 Free and she knocked almost a full second off of her previous time. Everyone was pretty excited. She's in the black suit with pink goggles.
Brielle started swimming almost exactly 3 years ago. She has been swimming for a club team and the high school team at the same time, trying to get caught up and lower her times. Her favorite stroke is the 100 Breast but she always swims the 50 Free also. She started out the season with a time of 37.49 and at one point it was up to 39.62. Her time from last Thursday's meet was 35.10 and today she dropped all the way to 34.30!! She has worked so hard and it's paying off.

She had to wait about 3 hours between her first and second swim, which was kind of torture for her.
And she called me a stalker for taking these pictures. Haha!

It was finally time! The boys were able to make it in time to watch her swim, they were in Provo for 2 basketball games during her first swim. This is her 100 Breast.
And she did amazing! She was so excited, and I think a little shocked. She started out the season at 1:34.76 and went up to1:37.19 at one point. At her meet last week she got 1:34.17 and today she dropped to 1:30.75. That's almost a full 4 seconds!!

The girls team ended up taking 1st place in the whole region, and the boys team took 2nd. It was a pretty awesome day!

Check out that gnarly basketball bruise...

He got to stand in the tunnel while the varsity HS team was announced at their game last night. Pretty cool. Coach Ballstead told him that someday it would be him out there. We are all really hoping for that!

Lab Day

Monday was lab day for Jacob. His Dr. sent him over for some testing and he did awesome! His hand x-ray was a breeze.
The waiting for his blood draw was torture. He was pretty nervous.
We were finally called back and he didn't even flinch! Just chit chatted with the nurse about math the whole time.
While we were gone Caleb ran a birthday treat over to his primary teacher. I got a text saying, "So she was not home but I just rot (wrote) my name in wood chips." I was a little nervous that he'd made a mess of her wood chips but she sent me this picture later. Funny kid. Haha!

More Basketball!

Here are a few blurry pictures from Jacob's game on Saturday. They came out with a pretty big win. Jacob is sure loving basketball right now, I'm so happy he has the opportunity to play. It makes him so happy, and I love watching him.

First Family Ski Day 2018

We've had a pretty bad snow year so far. It just really hasn't snowed at all. That, combined with how busy we've been with high school swim, club swim, basketball, shooting, soccer, piano and school, we just haven't gotten our skiing in. The girls have been a few times by themselves, but Martin Luther King day was the first day we've been out this season as a family. The snow wasn't as bad as I was expecting but it was pretty crowded because of how few runs and lifts are open. I don't think any of my kids even noticed. They all had a really awesome day.
The boys love the terrain park.
We were on the lift at 9:00 and skied the morning away. We took a break for our traditional Chili Cheese Fries, and then we were back on the slopes.
We skied until 3:00 and then headed home. When we got home the boys went to play basketball and Brooke went ice skating with her friend. I don't know how they had the energy.
It was a pretty fun family day, hopefully we can get a few more ski days in before the season ends.
