We have had such a great snow year this year. It's been awesome to have so much snow for sledding and building forts, skiing and snowmobiling. We have all really loved it. A week or so ago it rained and rained, and melted mostly all of the snow. Everyone kind of got spring fever, you know, asking to have their bikes down, asking to set up the tramp and wear shorts, haha! But we know better here in Heber. On Wednesday morning we woke up to 6 inches of new snow and it just kept coming. It sure was beautiful. Snowy mornings are the best, unless to have to leave the house. Haha!

The Blue and Gold Banquet
Tuesday night the cub scouts held their Blue and Gold Banquet. Both boys received a few awards at the beginning, and then we had tacos for dinner.
The boys were all supposed to bring a cupcake cake with a Star Wars theme. We were skiing all day Monday, and I had to work on Tuesday so I told my boys there was just no way I could have their cakes made by 6:00. I had to get home from work, pick up a shirt for Jacob at the scout store, and get to the dinner on time. They were a little disappointed, but handled it well. My last 2 patients ended up canceling so I ran to the market, picked up some cake mixes and frosting and ran home to start baking. Let me just say, I am not a baker. Ask my kids. Haha! I was desperate and we frantically threw these two cupcake cakes together as fast as we could.
Jacob's is a wookie. I thought it looked like one of those tree trunk people.
And Caleb's are light sabers.
Now, here's the very best part. Out of the 20 or so cakes there, Jacob's won first place!! What?! Haha! I was dying. And also very proud of myself. He even got a cute Lego Star Wars key chain. He was a pretty happy kid.
Cutest Cub Scouts Ever.

Ski Day #4
Monday, the 20th was President's Day so we headed back to the mountain. The weather was great, but the snow was a little icy. We spent some time on adventure alleys and playing in the terrain parks. The kids loved it.

Wasatch Basketball
We took the kids to the last home Boys Basketball game at the High School. It was fun for the boys to watch them play. Hopefully someday it will be them out there!

The Penguin
I know this is a horrible picture, but Jacob has been loving penguins lately and I found this cute little guy on a piece of paper in my kitchen. I love it.

Junior Jazz
Caleb played Junior Jazz this winter and he loved it. It was fun for him to have his own games after spending so much time practicing with Jacob's team but not being able to play in the games. He was hilarious, he always left while I was at work and every time I showed up at a game he was wearing this bright yellow shirt with orange shorts. I finally asked him why and he said it was because it matched so well. Haha!
He sure got into the game. This kid is a lover of all sports.
Jacob was always good to go support him.
He played his last game on February 15th. He was sad it was over, but he's ready to start soccer so it's all good. Next year he is hoping to be on the 3rd grade comp basketball team. Fingers crossed!

First Game of the Tournament
On Saturday, February 11th, Jacob had the first game of his tournament. We invited Grandma and Grandpa Balch to come to Orem to watch, but when we woke up we heard that there had been a massive mud slide in Provo Canyon and that it was closed, and would be for a good long time. We already had plans to meet the Balch's at Cabela's so we headed down through Salt Lake. Charles was pretty nervous that he wouldn't have enough players, so he spent a lot of time on the phone trying to make sure everyone knew that they had to go through Salt Lake. We shopped for awhile, had some lunch at Panda Express, then went to Orem High for the game. Luckily the canyon had opened in time and 7 of his 8 players made it down.

Ready to play!
It was so fun to have Grandma and Grandpa at the game, and also...they won! I love watching them play, but it's kind of stressful so I was really happy that they were happy. Go Wasatch!

4th Grade Rendezvous
Jacob had his 4 grade rendezvous at the beginning of February. It is such an awesome day for those kids. They get to dress up like mountain men, eat tin foil dinners and scones, make cool medicine bags and leather bracelets, and in the afternoon they sell things they've made. Jacob made bouncy balls and slime to sell and it sounds like he sold out pretty fast and had to start selling his back up candy stash. I'd say that's a success.

Super Bowl Sunday!
I've said it before, but the Super Bowl is a holiday at our house. My kids live for Super Bowl Sunday. And it's even better when Joe, Jordi and the boys come up for it. It's a real party when people come! Especially when they bring cookies and wings! We didn't really have a specific team we were cheering for this year so it wasn't a stressful game, but it sure was exciting watching the Patriots recover from being so behind. Crazy! I really only go for the food and the commercials. I would say, it was another successful Super Bowl.
