Carrie Underwood!!

Last spring, for my birthday, I got 4 tickets to the Carrie Underwood concert in Salt Lake. The concert wasn't until November 28th so it was a long wait. The day before the concert the weather reports were very unpromising and we starting wondering if it was a good idea to drive down in those conditions. The morning of the 28th Charles headed to work in Provo. He ended up driving his old  truck, which was a little weird as we hadn't driven it in at least a month, but he did and I am so glad!! He ended up having a car slide into him on the way down Provo Canyon. The truck was still drivable but it made him question driving to the concert even more. As the day went on the storm lessened a little bit. I was at the Dr. for Jacob's well child visit and it was taking way longer than I had anticipated, and it had started to snow a ton again while we were there. My hope was kind of dwindling at that point. But when I got home Charles had that trusty old truck warming up in the driveway and he told us to load up. We were going for it! Carrie Underwood or bust! We dropped the boys off at my dad's house and headed down. It was pretty snowy and slick, but we took it slow and made it just fine. And best of all...the concert was amazing!! Charles loved it too, even though I caught him sitting there plugging his ears. Haha!

We picked up dinner, listened to the 2 leading acts, and finally got to hear Carrie.  It was pretty long and Charles and I were anxious to get on the road and home to our boys. The girls could have stayed there singing away forever. We had such an amazing time!

Sewing Away

For one of the girls value projects for Personal Progress they decided to make Personal Progress holders. One for themselves, and a few to give away. I have to give them credit, they are much better at this sewing thing than I am!

Black Friday

The day after Thanksgiving Charles had to work, so we loaded up bright and early, said our goodbyes, and headed to Provo. Charles took Brooke to work with him and the rest of us spent the morning shopping away. Then we met up with them to go see Moana. Such a cute movie!

Caleb had to have a picture with his Wolverine hand at the theater.

We had some lunch at Panda Express and were right back to shopping. Caleb found this awesome BYU jacket for me and had to take a picture to show dad. So funny.
And then there's Charles who really wanted one of these crazy suits. Haha!

Thanksgiving Day 2016

Thanksgiving morning was pretty chill. Jacob wanted to try out his new BB Gun so the boys braved the cold in the back yard. I'm not sure why I only have pictures of Caleb.
We made rolls and painted some blocks Grandma had made for us.
Of course we made a drink run, and spent the rest of our time cooking. Dinner was amazing, as always!
After dinner we visited and looked at Black Friday ads.
Jordi and I decided to meet up with Anne at the Walmart in Richfield that night. I had my eye on some Legos and let me tell you, if Jordi hadn't been there, there is no way I would have gotten them. That girl is amazing. She dove right in. I had my hand on a box and literally got elbowed right out, but Jordi came from underneath and snatched one. It was awesome. It was some serious Black Friday shopping like I've never done before. The adrenaline! Ha! This cart was for all 3 of us, but we made a haul for sure.
Afterwards we headed back to Annabella for pie and some baby lovin'.
Somehow Brielle talked Jordi into straightening and then curling her hair. She was one happy girl.

I love Thanksgiving at the Balch's. I am so grateful to have them as family.

Over the River

The day before Thanksgiving, once Charles was home from work, we loaded up the car and headed to Grandma's house. Charles' cousin had purchased this truck and asked him to bring it down for him. It was a fun adventure for the boys to ride down with him in it.

He's excited, can't you tell?
I love this picture of my 3 boys peeking out the window.
Grandpa brought home pizza for dinner, and then we visited while Jacob worked on some yarn project from school. He was so funny. He worked on that thing all night. I'm not really sure what it ended up being, he kept saying he was sewing something.
Grandma and Grandpa had saved his birthday present so he could open it with them when he got there.
Nike Elite Basketball socks!! This kid is obsessed with his Elite socks. He has a pair for every day of the week. It's taken him a year to collect that many but he's finally there.
After presents he needed a foot massage while he worked on his sewing.

The rest of us hung out with the cute little cousins.
Sure love these boys chit chatting with Grandma.

Double Digits!

Jacob turned 10 on November 21st, and he got spoiled. His birthday fell on a Monday this year, so we decided to let him pick something fun to do the Saturday before. He wanted to go see Dr. Strange, and they had upgraded the theater so it now has full on recliners. It was a pretty awesome surprise! The movie was good too.

Afterward we took him to the BYU bookstore. He had been wanting a "Reppin The Y" shirt.
When we got back home that night we had Café Rio for dinner and had a family movie night at home.

On Monday, his real birthday, I checked him out of school and we went to Arby's for lunch.

Then we took donuts and chocolate milk to his school class. He wasn't at all hungry for his spaghetti dinner that night.

Grandpa and Suzanne came over for presents and cake.
Caleb was so excited to give him his gift. He had made a paper plate full of clay animals for him.
His present from the rest of us...
His own BB gun! He was pretty excited.

Jacob chose a cake made out of ice cream sandwiches. And I have to say, it was the easiest cake I've ever made and it was actually kind of good!

Happy Birthday kid! We sure love you!!
