The Safari Park

Saturday we decided to go to the Safari Park. It was pretty hot, and everyone was a little worn out, but we had a good time anyway. We took a few pictures while we were waiting for the gates to open.

We visited the gorillas,

And took our traditional gorilla picture.
Even dad got in on the fun this time.
We had to take pictures at all the picture spots. How can you pass them up?!

At 10:00 the Lorikeet feeding station opened, and we were first in line. We love feeding the Lorikeets.
Brielle loved it.

Brooke was a little nervous.

Caleb wanted nothing to do with it. At all.

Jake thought it was the coolest thing ever. He even stood there and let them chew on his finger.

Once we were hot and tired, we headed to the train.

After lunch we took a few more pictures,

fed the Lorikeets one last time,

and pet the goats. Brooke was super disappointed that we didn't get to feed and pet the deer. There were goats there this time instead.

We cooled off in the little kid's splash pad,

and then we headed home. We had a long drive ahead of us.

This time we decided to stop in St. George instead of driving all the way home. We slept in Grandma and Grandpa's empty house. It was so sad to see it empty!!

The Beach!

The beach was easily one of my favorite parts of the trip. I love the beach!!

We stopped at the beach after we left Sea World to let our kids play in the sand for a little while. They loved it. Next time, we are planning a beach day!

The kids had a blast collecting seashells.

Brooke was pretty sad we couldn't bring them home, so we took a picture of them.

We stayed until the sun set, and then we were on our way.

After we had attempted to clean the sand off of our kids we went to dinner at Chik-fil-A and went back to our hotel. Everyone was pretty tired.

Sea World

On Friday we were up bright and early, and on our way to Sea World. We got there before anything was open, so we had a slow start, but things picked up a little. It must be the slow time of year because a lot of stuff never did open.

Jacob loved feeling the bat rays. He could have stayed there all day. Caleb and Brooke didn't love them.

Benefit of getting there super early...you have the roller coaster all to yourself! The girls loved riding the Manta, it may have been Brielle's favorite part of the day.

The Flamingos

This ride was closed, but we at least took a picture by it.

Taking the flamingos for a walk.

Before lunch we spent some time in the little kid play area. It's sad to say this, but my kids are just almost too big for it. :(

They do love the polar bear cave though!
The dolphin show was pretty good this year, there was a lot of bird/people stuff going on, and not a ton of dolphin stuff, but still very entertaining. We all got sunburned watching it, it was such a gorgeous day!

Caleb was totally enthralled. And maybe a little dehydrated...:/
The Beluga Whales

The kids were pretty mad that they didn't get wet during the dolphin show (they were so hot!), so they insisted we sit in the splash zone for Shamu. And we got drenched! The show was okay, but I guess they no longer let the trainers get in the water with the whales at all, so we were a little disappointed. We got to see the new little baby whale that was born just 2 weeks before, so that was pretty cool.

The whole first half of the show Caleb kept asking me why we weren't getting splashed. Then we got splashed...and he was NOT happy. At all. He only wanted to get  a "little wet". Ha!
Since everyone was wet anyway, Charles took the 3 big kids on the raft ride and they got drenched again. Good thing it was a nice day!
Then we visited the star fish.

And rode the roller coaster again.

Right before we left we went back to the dolphins and Brielle finally got to touch one. She's been begging to touch one since our first trip to Sea World when we couldn't get close enough.

We stopped on our way out to take a few pictures, and then we were on our way. Hot, tired, hungry, and happy.

And ready for a huge Diet Pepsi!!
